Atoka Win/Henryetta Week

Posted Saturday, November 06, 2010 by Brett Jones
Another great, close win for the hometown Bulldogs! We were very concerned about stopping Atoka’s great passing game and their penchant for putting up 40 pts a game. Our defense once again rose to the occasion. They bent but for the most part they kept the Atoka offense in check by only surrendering two touchdowns. That was Atoka’s lowest point total this year! Our offense struggled at times but responded by driving 83 yards in the final quarter to take the lead. We are very happy with being 9-1. That is the only the second time in school history that a Valliant team has had that kind of regular season record, the other team was in 1996.
Our first round playoff game will be against the Henryetta Knights. They finished third in their district behind Beggs and Keys with a 7-3 record. They are a very physical team and play sound defense. We are excited to be where we’re at and look forward to a great match-up.
